When to Travel

The Greek islands are highly seasonal. The best time to visit is between June and September, with sunshine-filled days and minimal rainfall. Many islands shut down from November thru April.

Day by Day

The flow and focus of the trip are up to you, with multiple islands and mainland Greece as possibilities.

Day 1

Welcome to Greece! Spend a few nights in Athens exploring the temples and ruins of Greece’s mesmerizing capital, or head directly to the islands. We’ll fly you from Athens to heavenly Santorini (a quick 45-minute flight), trimmed by jagged, bright cliffs facing a deep blue slice of sea. Enjoy a VIP tasting at Venetsanos Winery, overlooking the island’s iconic caldera, explore the island’s cobbled lanes and walking paths, and settle into the hotel over cocktails with a view.

Day 2

Start today by hiking to Santorini’s most iconic city, Oia, with its famously white-washed homes and vibrant blue rooftops. Then, board the ferry to the picturesque island of Folegandros, home to rugged landscapes, secluded coves and romantic sunsets. Settle into Chora—known for its colorful fishing boats, relaxed atmosphere, and seclusion from tourists—and soak up Aegean views from a new and peaceful vantage, far from the crowds.

Day 3

Today is about connection to the flavors of Folegandros and the Greek Islands. Begin by getting your body moving with a beachside morning workout. Then, join up with local fisherman to choose a fresh catch for lunch, which you’ll savor after a hike to the beach and dip in the ocean. Later today, head back into Chora for dinner and a cocktail.

Day 4

Spend the day at sea aboard a private yacht cruising the islands. Relax on deck, enjoy lunch with the best vantage and if you get too warm, simply jump into the crystal blue ocean. Back on land this afternoon, head up to Chora’s 400-year-old hilltop church, watching as the sun sets gently into the sea.

Day 5

Begin the day by private boat to Paros, an island known for its beautiful beaches and rural villages. From vivid nightlife and natural footpaths to pristine beaches perfect for water sports—it has a little something for everyone. Settle in and then explore the fishing village of Naoussa, with its beautiful blue bay and white-washed buildings, and cap off the evening dining at a local eatery.

Day 6

Head off to Antiparos by bike, taking in the town’s vibrant beaches and golden-green landscapes. The prize at the end of this ride is a simple beach-house lunch. Stroll through town on cobblestone streets before ending the day with a visit to a local farm. Do some cooking before diving into your own farm-fresh dishes, finally heading back to Paros for the night.

Day 7

Awaken your muscles and mind with a morning yoga session on the beach. Then, it’s off to hike down part of the Byzantine road, the oldest road in Paros. Pass rugged mountainsides, pristine beaches and villages painted white and blue along the way. Refuel with a picnic at the beach and some well-deserved swimming and relaxation.

Paros

Mimicking the traditional white-washed architecture of Paros, we’ll stay in a luxurious imitation of everything that makes the Greek Islands beautiful. Located between stunning Kolympithres beach and the jewel town of Naoussa, wake up with the sun and gaze at the sea from your window.

Santorini

Santoroni is an iconic island gem, with whitewashed houses clinging to its famous volcanic cliffs—few places on Earth are more photogenic. We’ll have expansive views over the sea to the distant horizon, and we'll never want to leave.

  1. How many people is this itinerary suitable for?

    We can plan a custom, private departure for any group size. Our custom trips are perfect for a couple wishing to travel on their own, a family, or a multi-generational group. If you’re looking to travel on one of our group departures on a private basis, a minimum number of travelers may apply.

  2. Can you curate an itinerary for a larger group?

    Yes, we can craft an unforgettable milestone celebration or company retreat for groups as large as 40 or more.

  3. What makes a MO/AD experience different?

    Our level of curation, care, and in-country connections. We handle everything, overseeing your experience from beginning to end with the highest levels of ownership and responsibility. We support you every step of the way with comprehensive itineraries, detailed day-by-day descriptions, insider destination info, and 24/7 dedicated support.

  4. How far in advance should I plan my trip?

    Preferably six to nine months in advance and earlier for holiday travel. We stay in unique, in-demand boutique and luxury hotels where advance reservations are important to secure the best accommodations possible. We can help with last-minute travel planning, however availability may be limited.

  5. What is typically included?

    We curate your MO/AD Private Departure to ensure the experiences are authentic, immersive, and included in your trip price. Your itinerary typically includes accommodations, airport transfers, private transportation for all day trips and excursions, privately guided tours with local guides, exclusive VIP access and activities, and meals as detailed in your itinerary.

  6. How much will it cost?

    MO/AD Private Departures typically cost $750 to $1,500 per person, per day, and vary by destination, time of year, number of people in your group, and types of activities you prefer.

  7. What's not included?

    MO/AD Private Departures do not include roundtrip airfare to/from your destination, travel insurance, gratuities for local guides, hotel incidentals, and any activities and meals not included in your itinerary.

  8. What deposits are required?

    After learning more about you, your interests, preferred style of travel, dates, and budget, we will present you with initial ideas and examples of what we can plan for you. In order to design a detailed itinerary and check availability, there is a $500 non-refundable planning deposit due. This will be applied to your final trip cost. Once your itinerary is perfect, we require a 25% non-refundable confirmation deposit to start confirming all of your arrangements. Many of our local partners and hotels require additional advance deposits to secure the best accommodations. The balance of your trip cost is due 90 days prior to travel.

  9. What travel documents are needed?

    US citizens are not required to have a visa for stays in Greece of less than 90 days. Just bring a valid US passport. For citizens of other countries, we’ll confirm documentation requirements with the appropriate Greek embassy or consulate once your itinerary is confirmed.
